Crunchy bread
Description
This recipe transforms any type of older bread into crunchy sticks by cutting it into uniform shapes, enhancing their surface area for crisping. The bread sticks are seasoned with a generous coating of extra virgin olive oil, coarse salt, freshly ground black pepper, and a combination of herbs including rosemary, oregano, and mint, which impart an aromatic and savory profile. Baking at 200 degrees Celsius for about 10 minutes and finishing under the grill crisps the bread thoroughly, creating a texture ideal for dipping or adding contrast to softer dishes.
These crunchy bread sticks complement soups or salads by providing a textured contrast and herbaceous flavor notes. The simplicity of the seasoning allows the bread's flavor to remain prominent, enhanced by the chosen herbs.
The recipe offers an excellent way to reduce waste by using bread that might otherwise be stale, turning it into a tasty, crunchy snack. Adjust herb quantities according to personal taste preferences.
