Cucumber And Onion Raita

Cucumber And Onion Raita is a cooling yogurt-based side with grated cucumber, minced onion, green chili, and garlic, seasoned with cumin and chili powders. Chilled before serving, it provides a mildly spiced, refreshing accompaniment with a creamy texture and crisp vegetable bits.

Description

This raita combines smooth yogurt with fresh grated cucumber and finely minced onion, imparting crunch and natural moisture to the mix. Garlic adds a mild pungency, while green chili lends adjustable heat depending on preference. The seasoning is completed with cumin powder and a pinch of red chili powder, adding aromatic warmth and a gentle kick.

After combining ingredients, the raita is refrigerated for 30 minutes to an hour to allow flavors to meld and develop. The result is a creamy, cool dip or side that can balance spicier main dishes or serve as a light refresher.

Adjust the amount of green chili according to your taste to control the spice level. Serve chilled alongside meals where its cooling qualities complement heavier or richly spiced foods.
