Cucumber Lime Agua Fresca

This Cucumber Lime Agua Fresca blends partially peeled cucumbers with lime juice, agave syrup, and cold water, resulting in a refreshing, mildly sweet beverage. The partial peeling reduces the bitterness from cucumber skins while retaining nutritional benefits. The drink can be strained for smoothness or served with pulp, and it keeps chilled for a few days. It suits hot weather and pairs well with light meals or as a hydrating refreshment.

Description

Cucumber Lime Agua Fresca combines medium cucumbers that are partially peeled to balance flavor and texture with lime juice, agave syrup as a natural sweetener, and cold water. Blended thoroughly, the drink can be strained to remove pulp if a smooth finish is desired. This beverage offers a refreshing, mildly citrusy taste with subtle sweetness and a cooling effect from the cucumbers, making it an ideal hydration choice.

The partial peeling of cucumbers manages the natural bitterness of the skin without sacrificing fiber and nutrients. The use of agave syrup provides sweetness adjustable to personal preference. Lime juice adds a bright acidity, creating a balanced flavor profile that is both crisp and lively.

This agua fresca is best served chilled or over ice and can be stored in the refrigerator for two to three days in a sealed container. Before serving, shake or stir to redistribute flavors. Variations include adding chia seeds for texture and nutrition, rimmed beverages with Tajin for a spicy twist, or blending in fresh mint for herbal notes.

To prepare, cucumbers are cut into large pieces and combined with lime juice, agave syrup, and water in a blender until smooth. Taste adjustments to sweetness can be made before serving. Straining is optional depending on texture preference.
