Cucumber Salad

This cucumber salad features halved and sliced seedless cucumbers combined with diced avocado, dressed in a lemon juice and olive oil vinaigrette seasoned with garlic, chives, salt, pepper, and a hint of red chili flakes. The salad offers fresh, crisp textures from the cucumbers balanced with the creamy richness of avocado and a bright, tangy dressing. It works well as a light, refreshing side dish during warmer months.

Description

Cucumber Salad is constructed from fresh seedless cucumbers sliced and combined with diced avocados, providing a contrast between crisp and creamy textures. The dressing includes fresh lemon juice and olive oil, infused with minced garlic, chopped chives, kosher salt, freshly cracked black pepper, and subtle heat from red chili flakes. This blend brings brightness, herbal notes, and a gentle spiciness that complements the mild produce.

Preparation involves whisking the dressing ingredients first, then tossing avocado in it to slow oxidation. Cucumbers are added last and lightly tossed just before serving to avoid sogginess and maintain crispness. This approach ensures freshness whether served immediately or after brief storage.

The salad is a versatile accompaniment to meals, suitable for summer dining or as a base to add other ingredients like tomatoes or olives. Its mild yet flavorful profile suits casual family dinners and picnic menus.
