Ingredients

Servings
  • 1/2 cup frosting red
  • 1/2 cup frosting pink
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips divided
  • 1 Tablespoons shortening if needed
  • 4 cups Chex cereal
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • M&Ms optional, Valentine's themed
  • conversation hearts optional

Instructions

  1. To Prep: Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or a non-stick silicone baking mat.
  2. Scoop the pink frosting and 1/4 cup white chocolate chips into a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 20 second increments, stirring in between, until melted and smooth. If needed, add a teaspoon of shortening or coconut oil to soften.
  3. Fold 2 cups Chex cereal into the melted pink chocolate mixture, until all cereal pieces are coated.
  4. Pour 1/2 cup confectioner’s sugar into a large gallon zip-top bag, then scoop the pink candy-coated cereal into the bag. Seal the bag and shake well until all of the cereal is coated with sugar.
  5. Open the bag and shake out the cereal onto your prepared baking sheet, then repeat the process with red frosting to make the same amount of red snack mix.
  6. When snack mix is completely dry, add your favorite Valentine candy mix-ins.
