Dairy Free Peach Cobbler

Dairy Free Peach Cobbler uses sliced peaches sweetened lightly and topped with a crumbly mixture of flour, oats, chopped pecans, sugar, baking powder, and coconut oil. An egg and non-dairy milk bind the cobbler topping, which bakes to a golden brown crust over warm peaches. Finished with dairy-free ice cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon for serving, this cobbler offers a tender fruit filling with a textured, nutty crust.

Description

This dairy-free peach cobbler layers ripe, sliced peaches tossed with sugar and cornstarch in a baking dish. The topping combines all-purpose flour, rolled oats, chopped pecans, sugar, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Coconut oil, egg, and a plant-based milk such as cashew milk are mixed in to moisten the dry ingredients, then dolloped over the peaches. Turbinado sugar is sprinkled on top for extra crunch and sweetness. Baked at a high temperature, the topping crisps and browns, creating a contrast with the soft peach filling beneath.

The combination of pecans in both filling and topping adds nutty flavor and texture to the dessert. Served warm, it pairs nicely with dairy-free ice cream and a touch of ground cinnamon, enhancing the cobbler’s sweetness and complexity. The crust is tender but slightly crisp from oats and sugar, complementing the juicy fruit inside.

Adjust the sugar added to the peaches based on their natural sweetness — more if the fruit is tart and less if very ripe. To accommodate nut allergies, remove pecans from the recipe. This cobbler is a dairy-free alternative that does not compromise on texture or flavor and is suitable for those avoiding dairy.
