Dairy-Free Rice Krispie Treats
Description
This recipe uses smooth almond butter combined with raw honey, brown rice syrup, and coconut oil, gently melted together to coat crispy rice cereal for a sweet, sticky base. After cooling briefly, chocolate chips are mixed in without melting. The mixture is then pressed into a lined pan and chilled in the freezer until firm, creating bars that hold together well when cut. These treats have a chewy, nutty flavor and texture without any dairy ingredients.
The no-bake preparation makes it an easy snack or dessert option. The nut butter offers natural richness, while the raw honey and rice syrup add sweetness and binding properties. Adding chocolate chips enhances the flavor contrast and adds some texture.
Storing these treats frozen is recommended; thaw for a few minutes before eating to reduce stickiness. Different nut butters can be substituted, and sunflower seed butter provides a nut-free option. Heating the wet ingredients gently is important to maintain proper consistency and ease of mixing.
