Dairy-Free Sheet Pan Steak Fajitas
Description
The Dairy-Free Sheet Pan Steak Fajitas start with sirloin steak trimmed and sliced thin for quick cooking. The steak is broiled briefly to ensure rapid searing, which locks in juices and tames toughness. A simple seasoning blend combining chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and paprika is divided between the steak and vegetables. The vegetables—onions, carrots, mushrooms, and bell peppers—are tossed with oil and the spices to complement the beef.
Cooking the seasoned steak and vegetables on a single sheet pan at 400°F for 12 minutes results in a combination where the steak is cooked through but tender, and the vegetables remain crisp. Allowing the mixture to rest in the warm oven after turning it off softens the vegetables slightly without overcooking. The fajita mix is portioned into tortillas and optionally topped with lime juice, fresh cilantro, and avocado for freshness and balance.
Broiling the steak upfront shortens total cooking time while maintaining texture. While sirloin is preferred for tenderness, flank steak can be used but may be tougher. Tortillas can be gluten-free or traditional wheat according to dietary needs.
Ingredients
- 0.5 kg sirloin steak sterling silver brand, for marinating
- ½ onion
- 1 carrot peeled, and slivered
- 8 mushrooms cut in chunks
- 2 bell pepper sliced
- 1 tbs avocado oil
- 1 tbs chili powder
- 1.5 tbs garlic powder
- 2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tbs cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon paprika
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Trim steak and slice thinly. Broil for 6 minutes.

- Sprinkle ¼ seasoning on the steak. Toss the veggies in oil and the remainder of the seasoning.
- Place the veggies on the tray with the steak and smooth everything out flat.

- Portion out the steak fajitas mixture into gluten-free tortillas and top with your favorites like lime juice, fresh cilantro, and avocado!
Notes
- Broil the steak first to reduce cooking time and keep vegetables crunchy.
- Top the fajitas with fresh lime juice, cilantro, and avocado for added flavor.
- Sirloin steak gives a tender texture; flank steak is a tougher alternative.
- Let the cooked sheet pan fajitas rest in the turned-off oven for 5 minutes to slightly soften vegetables.
- Use gluten-free or traditional flour tortillas depending on dietary preferences.
