Dehydrated Pineapple
Report
This is a food dehydrator recipe to make dried pineapple.
Share:
Ingredients
- 1 large pineapple fresh
Instructions
- Trim off the green leaves and slice off the top of the pineapple.
- Cut off the peel as well as possible. Also, cut out the pokey dark holes.
- Cut pineapple around the core. I don't use the core.
- Slice pineapple into equal thick pieces.
- Place pineapple pieces into a colander (and with a bowl under the colander) and gently press the pineapple so that excess juices come out.
- Turn on your food dehydrator and arrange your pineapple chunks next to each other on the racks.
- Place one rack over the other and make sure the pineapple pieces are not overlapping in the rack.
- Dry for about 12-14 hours or until you are satisfied with the result. I left mine for 14 hours and turned the pieces in between.
- Store in a cool, dry and dark place away from direct sunlight and humid places. Use airtight containers, glass jar or vacuum bags.
