Dessert Baked Sweet Potato

This Dessert Baked Sweet Potato features a tender, oven-baked sweet potato enhanced with coconut butter, almond butter, toasted coconut flakes, pecans, chopped dark chocolate, and cinnamon. The combination creates a rich, creamy, and textured treat blending sweet, nutty, and slightly bitter flavors. Baking the sweet potato until very soft allows the toppings to melt gently, making it a warm dessert or nourishing snack that balances sweetness and crunch.

Description

The recipe bakes a medium sweet potato pierced and placed on foil-lined sheet at 400°F until soft and slightly oozing, which typically takes about 45 minutes. Once baked, a slit is made in the top, and the potato is gently mashed open to add toppings: coconut butter and almond butter contribute creaminess, toasted coconut flakes provide texture, pecans add a nutty crunch, dark chocolate offers depth and slight bitterness, and cinnamon enhances warmth.

This dessert offers a comforting balance of textures and flavors, serving well as a sweet finish to meals or a cozy afternoon snack. The natural sugars in the sweet potato caramelize in the oven for added sweetness.

The notes mention that any nut or seed butter can substitute almond butter, and pecans can be swapped for preferred nuts, allowing some customization based on availability or taste preferences.
