Dessert Nachos
Description
The recipe begins by frying small corn tortilla triangles in hot oil until golden and crisp, then immediately tossing them in a cinnamon sugar mixture to ensure the sugar sticks while warm. These crispy, sweet tortilla chips form the base of the dessert.
Fresh banana and strawberries provide juicy, fruity contrast, while toasted walnuts add texture and a nutty note. Whipped topping adds creamy lightness, and chocolate and caramel sauces drizzle over the assembly enhance the overall sweetness and richness.
These dessert nachos can be assembled on a serving board, layering the tortilla chips and toppings in two rounds. They offer a combination of warm crispiness, fresh fruit, creaminess, and rich sauces. The tortillas can be prepared ahead, stored airtight, and gently reheated before topping. It's recommended to add toppings just before serving to maintain texture and avoid sogginess.
