Dessert Quesadillas
Description
This recipe for dessert quesadillas begins by spreading softened butter on one side of whole wheat tortillas, then sprinkling cinnamon over the buttered surface. The tortillas are toasted in a skillet until crisp and golden brown. One warm tortilla, cinnamon side up, is then spread with peanut butter and topped with chocolate chips and a drizzle of honey before being covered with the second tortilla. The sandwiches are served warm with whipped cream accented by honey for dipping.
The toasting softens and crisps the tortillas to hold the sweet filling, which combines nutty peanut butter, melty chocolate, and floral honey notes, balanced by cinnamon-spiced edges. The whipped cream adds a light texture contrast to the warm quesadillas.
