Disney Dole Whip Recipe

This Disney Dole Whip copycat blends frozen pineapple chunks, pineapple juice, vanilla ice cream, and optional powdered sugar into a smooth, creamy soft-serve style treat. The tropical flavor and icy texture make for a refreshing dessert or snack that can be served immediately or piped for a soft swirl appearance.

Description

The Disney Dole Whip recipe uses frozen pineapple chunks blended with pineapple juice and vanilla ice cream, with optional powdered sugar to enhance sweetness. The initial pulsing of the pineapple and juice breaks down the fruit, and adding ice cream creates a creamy, frosty dessert reminiscent of soft serve.

For a classic soft swirl presentation, additional powdered sugar and ice can be blended then frozen briefly and piped. Otherwise, the whip can simply be spooned into bowls or cups for easy serving.

This homemade version offers a tropical frozen treat with bright pineapple flavor and creamy vanilla notes, ideal for warm days or themed snacks.

Serving immediately preserves its smooth texture, while piping requires a brief freezing step to firm up the mixture.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 3/4 cup pineapple juice
  • 2 cups pineapple frozen chunks
  • 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream
  • 1 tsp powdered sugar optional

Instructions

  1. Using a powerful blender, pour in 1/2 cup of the pineapple juice into the blender, then add frozen pineapple chunks on top and blend together. If you have a pulse function, pulse the ingredients until well blended. If you don't have a pulse function, make sure to stir and loosen the pineapple chunks in between turning the blender on and off to get the pineapple to fully blend down.
  2. Pour remaining pineapple juice into the blender, blend. Add ice cream and powdered sugar and blend together until smooth.
  3. Scoop your Dole Whip into a cup or bowl and serve immediately.

Notes

  • To pipe the Dole Whip, add powdered sugar and ice, blend fully, then freeze for an hour before using a piping bag.
  • Serving by spooning is quicker and yields an equally enjoyable texture without the piping step.
  • Pulse frozen pineapple during blending to help break down the chunks if no pulse function is available.
