Donut Bread Pudding

If you want an incredible bread pudding, you have to try this Bourbon Donut Bread Pudding. This is like a traditional bread pudding but even better. Made with leftover donuts, this bread pudding is taken to a whole new level.

Ingredients

  • 1 dozen plain cake donut cut into bite-sized pieces, stale
  • 1 dozen chocolate cake donut cut into bite-sized pieces, stale
  • 4 large egg
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 Tablespoons butter melted
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar lightly packed
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 Tablespoons vanilla
  • 1/2 Tablespoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt

Glaze:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg large
  • 1/2 cup bourbon adjust to taste

Instructions

  1. Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In an extra-large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, butter, sugars, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Add the donut pieces, toss to combine, cover, and allow the mixture to sit for 20 minutes.
  4. Spray a 9x5 loaf pan with baking spray. Add the donut mixture to the pan.
  5. Bake for 60-70 minutes or until golden brown. Allow cooling for 15 minutes.

Bourbon Glaze:

  1. You can make the sauce while the bread pudding is cooling.
  2. In a medium saucepan add the butter, over low heat, cook until melted.
  3. Add in the sugar and beaten egg into the melted butter, stir to combine.
  4. Over low heat, stir the mixture constantly until the sauce is thick enough to coat the back of your spoon. Remove from heat.
  5. Whisk in the bourbon to taste.
  6. Remove the bread pudding from the loaf pan and pour the bourbon sauce over the bread pudding. Serve
