Dressing, Satay Dressing for salads and Vegetables
Description
Satay Dressing for salads and vegetables is made by mixing crunchy peanut butter with hot water to soften it, then adding rice wine vinegar, soy sauce, grated ginger, sugar, and sesame oil. The hot water helps to achieve a smooth, pourable texture. The combination results in a dressing that is thick, creamy, and layered with nutty, tangy, and mildly sweet flavors. Ginger adds a subtle pizzazz while sesame oil contributes to the overall aroma and depth.
This dressing works well as a topping for raw or cooked vegetables, giving them a savory peanut twist. It can be used on salads or as a dipping sauce for crudités, providing a balance of creaminess and acidity that complements many fresh ingredients.
Adding crushed garlic can increase the pungency if desired. The dressing can be made in advance and stored in the refrigerator, shaking well before use to re-emulsify the mixture if separation occurs.
