Dried Cranberry Chocolate Cookies

Dried Cranberry Chocolate Cookies combine the chewiness of rolled oats and sweetness of two types of chocolate chips with tart dried cranberries for a balanced cookie. The use of both egg and egg yolk adds richness, while baking powder and baking soda ensure a tender texture. Butter and sugars are creamed to create a creamy base, yielding cookies with lightly browned edges and a soft center. These cookies work well as a sweet snack or dessert, offering a pleasant mix of textures and flavors.

Description

Dried Cranberry Chocolate Cookies feature a blend of all-purpose flour and rolled oats to form a slightly chewy base. The dough includes both baking powder and baking soda for proper leavening, along with salt to balance sweetness. Butter and sugars are creamed together before incorporating eggs and vanilla extract, enriching the dough. The addition of bittersweet and white chocolate chips adds sweetness and variety, complemented by tangy dried cranberries. Baking at a moderate temperature allows the cookies to develop lightly browned edges while remaining soft. Cooling on racks helps preserve texture. This recipe yields a batch of cookies notable for their combination of chewy oats and sweet-tart fruit chunks, ideal for enjoying with a cup of tea or as a treat at any time.
