Dutch Oven Peach Cobbler

This Dutch Oven Peach Cobbler combines fresh, peeled peach slices and blueberries with warming spices like cinnamon and nutmeg. The fruit mixture is baked briefly before being topped with a biscuit-like batter dropped by spoonfuls. A cinnamon-sugar sprinkle adds a crunchy touch after baking, making for a dessert with soft, fruity filling and a tender, subtly spiced crust. The use of a Dutch oven supports even baking and rustic presentation.

Description

The Dutch Oven Peach Cobbler features ripe peaches peeled and sliced, mixed with sugar, lemon juice, and spices including cinnamon and nutmeg, balanced by fresh blueberries for sweetness and color. The filling is baked briefly to soften the fruit and develop flavors. A topping batter made from all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, melted butter, and milk is dropped in spoonfuls onto the filling, creating a soft crust with a biscuit-like texture once baked. A cinnamon-sugar mixture is spooned over the top for a gently crisp finish. Baked at 350°F, the cobbler emerges with warm, tender fruit beneath a lightly sweetened, spiced topping. Serving it hot with ice cream contrasts the warm peaches and crust with creamy coldness, enhancing the eating experience.
