Easter Cupcakes Recipe
Description
The Easter Cupcakes are made by preparing a white cake mix according to the package instructions, baked in cupcake liners to hold their shape. Once cooled, a two-tone buttercream frosting is prepared by mixing room temperature unsalted butter, vanilla extract, salt, powdered sugar, and milk, then dividing and coloring portions green and orange.
The green buttercream is piped onto the cupcakes using a grass tip to simulate fresh grass. The orange frosting is used to decorate yellow peanut butter eggs by piping a beak, eyes, and feet, then attaching candy eyes to create small chick figures. These decorated eggs are placed on top of the green-topped cupcakes for a thematic appearance.
This recipe lends itself to festive celebrations, offering a sweet, decorated treat suitable for Easter gatherings, parties, or family desserts. The components can be made in advance and assembled shortly before serving to maintain freshness and appearance.
