Easy Air Fryer Donuts

Easy Air Fryer Donuts simplify donut making by using canned biscuit dough cooked quickly in the air fryer. The donuts develop a golden exterior and soft interior, then are brushed with butter and coated in a cinnamon sugar mixture. The donut holes are cooked similarly for a bite-sized treat. This method avoids frying in oil while producing warm homemade donuts.

Description

This recipe uses refrigerated biscuit dough cut to donut shapes by removing biscuit centers. The dough pieces are air fried at 350°F in batches until golden brown, flipping halfway through cooking. Once cooked, the donuts and holes are brushed with melted butter and tossed in a mixture of granulated sugar and cinnamon for coating.

The air fryer creates a crisp outside and soft inside without deep frying, making the process more convenient and less greasy. Donut holes are cooked after the main donuts, allowing the small pieces to crisp up similarly. The cinnamon sugar coating adds a sweet and spicy finish.

This approach lets home cooks quickly make fresh donuts with pantry staples and minimal equipment. Cooling and glazing options are possible if preferred for a different texture or flavor.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 (16.3 ounce each) can Biscuits refrigerated
  • ¼ cup butter melted
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 350°F.
  2. Cut a circle out of the center of each biscuit using a small 1" cutter.
  3. Place 4-5 pieces of the dough in the air fryer.
  4. Cook 3 minutes. Flip and cook an additional 2-3 minutes or until browned.
  5. Remove from the air fryer and while warm, brush with butter. Combine sugar & cinnamon, toss donuts in sugar mixture.
  6. Repeat with remaining donuts. Once the donuts are cooked, add the donut holes to the air fryer and cook for 3 minutes. Toss with additional butter and sugar if desired.

Notes

  • If you don't have a 1-inch cutter to remove the biscuit centers, a large pastry tip can be used as an alternative tool.
  • Donuts can be cooled and then glazed or dipped in glaze instead of cinnamon sugar if preferred.
