Easy Air Fryer Donuts (with Biscuit Dough)
Description
These Easy Air Fryer Donuts rely on refrigerated biscuit dough divided into eight pieces, each flattened and cut with a central hole to form a classic donut shape. Air frying at 350°F for a few minutes per side crisps the outer layer to a golden color while maintaining a flaky, soft texture inside. This cooking process avoids oil bathing, offering a cleaner and quicker preparation compared to traditional frying.
The donuts are finished in two ways: rolling in a cinnamon sugar mixture after brushing with melted butter, which adds sweetness and a slightly crunchy coating, or coating with a vanilla glaze made from powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract. The glaze can be customized with sprinkles for decoration. Both toppings enhance the flavor and provide texture contrast to the tender dough.
This recipe makes homemade-style donuts accessible without complex frying equipment. They can be served warm as breakfast or a snack and provide a comforting baked treat with cinnamon and sugar or glazed sweetness. The use of biscuit dough simplifies the doughmaking process while still delivering a flaky, layered crumb typical of biscuits.
