Ingredients

  • 1 10 puff pastry 10 sheets
  • 2 apple peeled and sliced thinly
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1 egg beaten, to brush on outside

Instructions

  1. Kick the tires and light the fires to 375 degrees.Slice those apples up!Combine the melted butter and dry ingredients, then pour over the apples in a bowl.
  2. Make sure they are all evenly covered, then place in the middle of the pastry sheet. Fold the edges together like the picture below, making sure they stick.
  3. The beauty of galettes is that they are supposed to be a rustic looking pastry, that is what makes them so fast!
  4. Uneven edges, not perfectly circular, these are all ok.If you would like a lovely super, crispy browned pastry, brush the beaten egg over the pastry.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the pastry is beautifully browned like this. Let it sit for 5 minutes, then serve.
