Easy Bacon Cheeseburger Pie
Report
My Grandma’s Bacon Cheeseburger Pie is exactly like a bacon cheeseburger in a pie crust! Ketchup, mustard, relish, bacon, ground meat and lots of cheese! It's a hearty and delicious meal that is a true crowd-pleaser for meals!

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Cook bacon in a large skillet until almost crisp. Set aside on a paper towel lined plate. Wipe out your skillet. In the same skillet cook ground beef and onions until meat is no longer pink and onions are tender. Drain if necessary. Add ketchup, mustard, relish, cooked bacon, salt, oregano, pepper and 2 cups of cheese. Stir until blended.
- Open one package of your pie crust and form your pie shell. Make sure all of your edges reach or hangover the side of your pie plate.
- Dump beef mixture into shell. Sprinkle remaining 1 cup of cheese all over the top of the pie and then spread cheese slices on top.
- Cover top of pie with second pie crust. Wrap extra top crust underneath bottom crust and press edges together so your pie is all sealed. Pinch all around the edges with your thumb and forefinger to make a nice edge or flute.
- Cut slits in the top of your pie, in a sort of star pattern, starting in the center of your pie. Four or five slits will do to allow heat to escape. Use a sharp knife and only cut through the dough. You don't need to cut into the meat or filling.
- Bake for 20 minutes. Remove pie from oven and cover the entire edge of your pie with tinfoil to prevent burning. Bake for 20-30 more minutes. I have even left the pie in the oven for an additional 5 more minutes to brown the top crust even more while at my friends house. This pie is ready once the crust is nicely browned.
- Allow to rest for 10 minutes before serving. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
- Drain Off Any Grease. For best results if your meat has a lot of grease after cooking you should drain it before finishing the filling.
- Cover With Foil. This keeps the crust from becoming overly brown when cooked in the oven.
- Let It Rest. This gives the juices time to soak back into the meat. It will taste better but also be easier to cut.
