Easy Baked Apples (Old-Fashioned)

Easy Baked Apples feature whole apples cored and filled with a cinnamon-spiced mixture of brown sugar and nuts, then baked with butter and water until tender. This dessert offers a soft texture with a warm, sweet, and slightly nutty flavor from the chopped walnuts or pecans mixed with cinnamon. The slow baking at 350°F softens the apples and melds the flavors, making it a comforting treat that works well as a simple dessert or a snack on cooler days.

Description

Easy Baked Apples (Old-Fashioned) prepare whole apples by removing the cores and filling them with a mixture of brown sugar, cinnamon, and finely chopped walnuts or pecans. Each filled apple is topped with butter and baked in a pan with water to keep them moist. The baking process softens the apples until tender and allows the cinnamon and nutty sweet filling to infuse the fruit, creating a gentle warmth and sweetness in every bite.

The texture is tender yet holding its shape, combining the soft baked apple with the slightly crunchy nuts in the cinnamon sugar filling. The butter adds richness and a subtle depth to the flavor, while the water in the baking dish prevents dryness during baking.

This baked apple dessert can be served warm on its own or alongside cream or ice cream if desired. It is straightforward to prepare with common pantry ingredients and requires minimal hands-on time, making it suitable for a cozy home dessert with familiar, comforting flavors.
