Easy Black Bean Patty Recipe

Healthy, hearty, and utterly satisfying, this Black Bean Patty is crispy on the outside and tender and flavor on the inside. Perfect for grilling and loaded with flavor, these black bean burgers are ideal for your plain or brioche buns.

Ingredients
- 2 cans black beans
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 cup onion finely chopped
- 3/4 cup bell pepper finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup feta cheese
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F.
- Drain and rinse the canned beans and pat them dry with paper towels. Spread the beans onto a lined baking sheet. Make sure not to overcrowd the pan.
- Bake the beans until they are partially dried out, about 15 minutes.
- While the beans cook, add olive oil to a skillet over medium heat. When hot, toss in garlic, onions, and chopped peppers. Sautée until veggies soften, about 5 or 6 minutes.
- Add the mixture into a mixing bowl.
- Add garlic powder, paprika, ground cumin, chili powder, bread crumbs , feta cheese, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, salt, and pepper.
- Add the baked black beans to the mixture.
- Mash the mixture with a fork. It’s ok to leave some beans whole.
- Shape the mixture into patties using about 1/3 cup of mixture for each one.
- Grease a sheet of aluminum foil. Place patties on the sheet and grill for 8 minutes on each side over medium heat..
- Place the patties on top of buns, serve with your toppings of choice and enjoy!
