Easy Blueberry Crisp

Easy Blueberry Crisp features a juicy mix of blueberries tossed with sugar, lemon zest, and flour, topped with a crumbly blend of butter, brown sugar, oats, and optional almonds. Baked until golden and bubbly, the crisp delivers a balance of tart fruit and sweet, crunchy topping. This dessert showcases seasonal blueberries and offers a warm, inviting texture and flavor combination.

Description

This blueberry crisp starts with fresh or frozen blueberries combined with granulated sugar, lemon rind, lemon juice, and flour to thicken the fruit juices during baking. The topping consists of softened butter mixed with brown sugar, oats, flour, cinnamon, and optional sliced almonds, creating a textured and flavorful crust.

Baking the crisp at 375°F until the fruit juices bubble and the topping turns golden brown results in warm berries softened but retaining shape beneath a lightly crunchy oat and nut layer. The lemon elements add brightness to the rich sweetness.

The dessert is best served slightly cooled or warm, ideal with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or dollop of cream for contrast. It highlights blueberry flavor in a rustic, easy-to-make format suited for seasonal enjoyment or casual gatherings.
