Easy Homemade Italian Dressing Recipe

This Italian Dressing combines olive oil, red wine vinegar, Italian seasoning, and optional Parmesan cheese to create a classic vinaigrette. It's shaken together in a jar, allowing the flavors to meld and offering a balanced mix of acidity and herbaceous notes suitable for salads.

Description

The Easy Homemade Italian Dressing blends ¾ cup olive oil with ¼ cup red wine vinegar, Italian seasoning, and optionally grated Parmesan cheese. The ingredients are combined in a mason jar and shaken to emulsify the dressing before serving. The dressing settles over time, requiring a shake prior to use.

This vinaigrette offers a simple way to dress greens with tanginess from vinegar, smoothness from olive oil, and savory herbs from the Italian seasoning. Parmesan adds a subtle cheesy depth, which can be omitted to extend storage life.

The recipe also notes storing this dressing in the refrigerator up to one week with cheese or three weeks without. Bringing the dressing to room temperature before serving helps loosen solids and improve pourability. A suggestion is given to replace dried Italian seasoning with fresh garlic and herbs when using immediately.
