Easy Homemade Oven Chips

Report
These Easy Homemade Oven Chips are crispy potato wedges seasoned with garlic granules and sea salt, roasted in olive oil. The method ensures evenly cooked chips with a golden crust, ideal for a homemade snack or side dish without deep frying.

Description

This recipe transforms fresh potatoes into crisp oven chips by cutting them into uniform pieces, rinsing and drying to remove excess starch, then coating them in olive oil, garlic granules, and sea salt. Baking at a preheated oven temperature of 200°C (400°F) for about 50 minutes with a turning halfway through promotes an even golden finish and crispiness without soaking the chips in oil. The simple seasonings enhance the potato's natural flavor while keeping the fat content moderate.

The chips can be served as a snack or alongside main dishes and salads. Using a non-stick or lined baking tray and avoiding overcrowding prevents sogginess and ensures the chips bake properly. Turning during cooking helps achieve a consistent texture all around.

Do not add extra oil beyond the specified amount to avoid greasy chips. Making sure the oven is fully preheated before placing the chips inside helps develop the desired crispness.
