Easy Mascarpone Frosting
Report
Mascarpone frosting is made using sweet Italian-style cream cheese. Whether you’re making a rich, decadent tiramisu or traditional cannoli, homemade mascarpone frosting adds a bit of luxury to your desserts. It’s also delicious in non-Italian desserts and can be used to top any of your favorite cakes and cupcakes.

Ingredients
- 16 ounces mascarpone cheese
- 2 cups powdered sugar (confectioner’s sugar)
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
Instructions
- Add the mascarpone and powdered sugar to the large mixing bowl. Using a hand mixer, beat for about one minute to make it light and fluffy. Note: a stand mixer also works well for this recipe.
- Using a spatula, scrape down the sides of the bowl. Add the vanilla extract and beat for another 10 seconds until combined.
- With the mixer on high speed, pour in the cream gradually over a minute or so. The frosting will get fluffy. Avoid overmixing to prevent curdling.
- The frosting is now ready to use. Use a spatula to frost a cake or alternatively a pastry bag and piping set to pipe into cupcakes or other desserts.
