Easy Matcha Mug Cake

This Easy Matcha Mug Cake provides a single-serving green tea-flavored dessert made quickly in a microwave-safe mug. The batter combines egg yolk, sugar, avocado oil, milk, vanilla, matcha powder, cake flour, and baking powder for a light, tender cake with subtle grassy notes from the matcha. It’s ideal when you want a small sweet treat without baking an entire cake.

Description

The Easy Matcha Mug Cake starts with whisking together egg yolk, granulated sugar, avocado oil, milk, and vanilla extract for a smooth base. Sifted matcha powder, cake flour, and baking powder are folded in to provide the distinctive flavor and leavening. Microwaving for about 60 to 90 seconds sets the cake, giving it a soft crumb with a hint of earthy matcha flavor that is not overpowering.

Cooling briefly before serving allows the texture to stabilize, making the cake pleasant to eat straight from the mug. You can add a topping like whipped cream, powdered sugar, or fruit for additional sweetness or presentation without complicating the quick preparation.

This mug cake suits moments when you want a little dessert quickly, without fuss or leftover cake. Its ingredients are simple and can be adapted for vegan or dairy-free substitutes if needed.
