Easy Pan Fried Pork Chops

Pan fried pork chops are seasoned and ready in under ten minutes. A few sprinkles of onion powder, seasoned salt and Montreal seasoning enhance the flavor of the meat. Easy to make and amazingly juicy and tender.

Ingredients

  • 6-8 pork chops boneless

Pork Chop seasoning:

  • 2 teaspoon Montreal steak seasoning I buy this at Costco
  • 1 teaspoon seasoning salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Mix seasonings together and sprinkle over both sides of pork chops.
  2. Pan fry or heat on a greased griddle with a tablespoon of butter and a teaspoon of canola oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side and check (with a meat thermometer) to get an internal temperature of 145 degrees.
  4. After cooking, let rest for 3 minutes and serve. We like to serve it with applesauce!

MAKE IT A FREEZER MEAL

  1. Do not cook! Place seasoned pork chops-into a gallon sized freezer bag, squeezing out the air before sealing the bag. Freeze.
  2. When it’s time to cook the pork chops, thaw completely in the fridge for 12-24 hours or overnight. Cook as directed above.

Notes

  • When cooking, turn off the heat a few degrees early. The meat temperature will continue to rise while your pork chops are resting. If you stop cooking at 145, the temperature might hit 150 or higher before your pork chops begin to cool down. Instead, turn off the stove when the meat temperature is 140, and watch it rise to 145.
  • Plan your side dishes in advance. Remember that the pork chops are done in 5-6 minutes, and most side dishes take much longer to prepare. Have the sides finished and patiently wait for the chops.
  • Instead of regular butter in the pan, try using flavored butter to add some extra tastiness to this pork chops recipe. Groceries stores often carry several flavored and herbed butters. Or try making your own with this recipe.
  • You can make this same recipe with bone-in pork chops. They require a little more cutting on your plate, but the meat will have a richer flavor. Plus, the slightly higher fat content of bone-in pork chops can make for a juicier chop.
