Easy Peach Cobbler Recipe

Easy Peach Cobbler is a baked dessert featuring fresh peeled and sliced peaches thickened with cornstarch and sweetened with sugar, topped with a lightly sweetened crust made from flour, eggs, butter, baking powder, and sugar. The crust partially covers the peaches, forming a golden, tender topping while the fruit mixture bubbles beneath. This dish is a classic southern-style peach dessert suitable for warm weather when peaches are in season.

Description

This Easy Peach Cobbler Recipe centers around fresh peaches that are peeled, sliced, and combined with cornstarch and sugar to create a filling that thickens during baking. The crust is prepared by mixing flour, egg yolks, melted butter, baking powder, and sugar, with gently folded beaten egg whites to add airiness. The crust is spread over the peaches, although it may not fully cover them, allowing some peach juices to bubble through during baking.

Baked at 375°F for about 45 minutes, the cobbler develops a golden top and bubbling fruit edges, resulting in a moist, sweet filling beneath a tender, lightly risen crust. The balance between the peach filling and the slightly cakey crust offers a pleasant texture contrast.

Serve the cobbler warm or at room temperature, often enjoyed on its own or with accompaniments such as whipped cream or ice cream.
