Easy Peanut Butter Cup Fudge Recipe
Description
The recipe uses melted semi-sweet chocolate combined with sweetened condensed milk and vanilla to create a classic fudge base that is poured into a lined pan. Half of the chopped mini peanut butter cups are folded in once the fudge cools slightly to prevent melting, creating a mix of smooth chocolate and chewy peanut butter pieces. The remaining chopped peanut butter cups are pressed on top before chilling to add texture and candy flavor at the surface.
The fudge is refrigerated for several hours until firm enough to slice into about 36 pieces, making it suitable for parties or gifts. Its creamy texture contrasts with the slightly crunchy chopped peanut butter cups, blending chocolate and peanut butter flavors effectively.
This fudge can be stored frozen up to 3 months in an airtight container without losing flavor or texture, providing flexibility for make-ahead dessert options. Nutritional content will depend on ingredient brands used.
Ingredients
- one millilitres sweetened condensed milk
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 9 1/2 quares semi-sweet baking chocolate
- one grams bag mini Reese's Peanut Butter Cups chopped in half or thirds
Instructions
- In a large microwave safe bowl ( a 4 cup Pyrex measuring cup works perfectly ) combine the chocolate squares and the condensed milk.
- Microwave for one minute, then stir, then microwave again for 45 seconds. Keep stirring until the chocolate is completely melted. Stir in the vanilla completely.
- Let it sit and cool, then mix in half of the peanut butter cups. ( if it is too hot the peanut butter cups will melt)
- Line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper or tinfoil. Spread the fudge into the lined pan then chop up the rest of the peanut butter cups even smaller and press into the top of the fudge.
- Refrigerate a few hours then slice. It makes a nice 36 pieces of fudge.
Notes
- Cool the melted chocolate mixture before adding peanut butter cups to prevent them from melting inside the fudge.
- Line the pan well with parchment or foil for easy removal of fudge.
- Store fudge in the freezer up to three months in a freezer-safe container without quality loss.
- Slice into small pieces (around 36) for serving or gifting.
