Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh asparagus woody pieces trimmed
- 4 ounces prosciutto
- 1 to 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450°F degrees.
- Wash and trim the woody ends of each asparagus stalk and set aside.
- Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Drizzle oil over the foil or lightly spray with non-stick cooking spray.
- Wrap each asparagus spear with prosciutto. Wrap tightly from the bottom of the asparagus to the tip. Place on prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes (depending on the thickness of the spears), flipping the spears every 5 minutes. Bake until prosciutto is crispy.
- Serve immediately. Season with ground black pepper if desired.
Notes
- To use bacon in place of prosciutto, purchase thin sliced bacon.
- 4 ounces will give you 8 slices of prosciutto. Cut in half for 16 asparagus stalks. You may also want to use a whole slice of Prosciutto for each asparagus. You will need 8 ounces of prosciutto (usually 2 packages).
