Easy Sesame Chicken Recipe

Easy Sesame Chicken features boneless, skinless chicken thighs seared to brown and coated in a sweet and tangy sauce made from soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and a touch of chili garlic sauce. The dish is finished with toasted sesame seeds for crunch and served as a flavorful main that pairs well with steamed rice or vegetables.

Description

This recipe highlights chicken thighs cut into bite-sized pieces, seared to develop a golden crust that locks in juices. The sauce, a combination of low sodium soy sauce and brown sugar balanced by rice vinegar and aromatic toasted sesame oil, is flavored with fresh ginger, garlic, and chili garlic sauce for a mild heat. Cornstarch is used to thicken the sauce as it cooks briefly with the chicken, allowing the sauce to cling to each piece.

The cooking method involves browning the chicken in a single pan, then adding the sauce and cooking just until it starts to thicken, which keeps the chicken moist while delivering a rich coating. Sprinkling toasted sesame seeds over the top adds textural contrast and enhances the nutty flavor notes. This recipe is straightforward yet flavorful with distinct Asian-inspired seasoning that works well centered in a meal.
