Easy Snickerdoodle Recipe

Easy Snickerdoodles are soft cookies flavored with cinnamon and cream of tartar for a traditional tang alongside cinnamon-sugar coating. The dough is made with flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and cinnamon, combined with a sugar and butter mixture, then shaped into balls and rolled in cinnamon sugar. Baking yields cookies with a slightly crisp edge and tender center, making them a straightforward cinnamon cookie option.

Description

The Easy Snickerdoodle recipe creates classic cinnamon cookies by mixing all-purpose flour with cream of tartar, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt. The wet ingredients—softened butter, sugar, and eggs—are creamed together before incorporating the dry components. The cookie dough is rolled into balls and coated with a cinnamon-sugar mixture before baking.

The baking process at 400°F results in cookies with slightly crisp edges and a soft, chewy center. The cinnamon-sugar topping adds a sweet, aromatic crust that enhances the overall flavor. This method yields about 32 cookies, making this recipe suitable for gatherings or everyday treats.

The recipe is simple and direct, requiring minimal preparation and standard ingredients, suitable for those wanting an uncomplicated cinnamon cookie.
