Easy Steak Sandwich
Description
This sandwich starts by seasoning and cooking sirloin steak slices to desired doneness. Ham and mozzarella slices are warmed on the steak just before removing it from the pan, allowing the cheese to melt. A sunny side fried egg adds richness and a silky texture. The sandwich is assembled on toasted French bread spread with mayonnaise, layered with romaine lettuce and tomato slices for freshness and slight crunch.
The interplay between warm, melted cheese and meats complements the crispness of vegetables and the toasted bread’s crust. Mayonnaise adds moisture and subtle tang. Serving with fries or mandioca frita adds a fulfilling accompaniment.
To maintain freshness when storing leftovers, components like lettuce and tomato should be kept separate and fresh. Reheating is best done gently in an oven, wrapped loosely to avoid bread drying. Preparing parts ahead and assembling just before serving helps retain texture and flavors.

- Prepare steak, ham, egg, and vegetables ahead and assemble fresh before serving for best quality.
- Keep lettuce and tomato separate from the steak when storing leftovers to maintain freshness.
