Easy Taco Salad
Description
The recipe begins by browning lean ground beef and cooking it with taco seasoning and water until thickened. Black beans, if used, are stirred in for added fiber and substance. Meanwhile, lettuce is chopped and placed in a large bowl or divided into serving portions.
Next, the seasoned meat is layered over the lettuce along with diced tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, and diced avocado. Additional toppings such as olives, jalapeños, and bell peppers can be added for personalized flavor and crunch. Crushed tortilla chips provide textural contrast, and a dollop of salsa and sour cream finishes the dish, offering creamy and spicy notes.
This salad is a convenient and customizable meal option that can be assembled quickly using pre-washed lettuce and ready taco seasoning. It is suitable for casual lunches or dinners and can incorporate leftovers effectively. Storage instructions advise keeping leftover taco meat refrigerated and reheating when needed.
