Easy Thai Baked Chicken Meatballs
Description
This recipe combines ground chicken with finely minced green onions, grated ginger, garlic, and lemongrass to infuse the meatballs with characteristic Thai-inspired aromas. Lime zest adds brightness, while panko breadcrumbs and an egg hold the mixture together for proper shaping. Salt seasons the blend evenly.
Once shaped into 2-tablespoon-sized balls, the meatballs are baked at 350°F until largely cooked through, then coated with sweet chili sauce that caramelizes during additional baking. This glaze provides a balance of sweetness and mild heat that complements the subtler spices in the meatballs. The baking method yields tender meatballs without frying, offering a convenient hands-off approach.
These meatballs can be served with extra sweet chili sauce for dipping and work well as finger food or part of a meal. The flavor profile offers a blend of fresh herbs and gentle spice typical of Thai recipes. Ground turkey or pork may be substituted if preferred, maintaining similar texture and flavor.
