Easy Tuna Casserole

Easy Tuna Casserole blends egg noodles, tuna, peas, and a creamy mushroom soup sauce topped with a crunchy panko and cheddar crumb layer. The casserole combines tender cooked vegetables with melted cheese and tuna for a comforting baked dish. This straightforward recipe offers a classic midweek meal that balances creamy textures with a crisp golden topping, suitable for family dinners or casual gatherings.

Description

Easy Tuna Casserole brings together cooked egg noodles with a savory combination of tuna, peas, and sautéed onions and celery, all bound in a creamy mixture of condensed mushroom soup, milk, and cheddar cheese. The mixture is baked topped with a crumb topping made from panko breadcrumbs, melted butter, cheddar cheese, and parsley, developing a crisp golden crust. The dish features a creamy texture with bursts of vegetable freshness and mild tuna flavor, balanced by the rich mushroom soup base.

This casserole is a filling entree that fits well as a warm main course alongside simple green salads or steamed vegetables. Its mild flavors appeal to family members of different ages and preferences, making it a practical choice for everyday meals.

The recipe advises using about six ounces of dry egg noodles, which cook al dente before combining with the other ingredients. Prepping the sautéed vegetables and crumb topping ahead can streamline assembly. Baking until bubbly and golden ensures the casserole is heated through and the topping has a desirable crunch.
