Easy Turkey Meatballs
Description
Finely diced shallots and crushed garlic are gently cooked to soften and release aroma before combining with turkey mince, egg, and breadcrumbs for binding. Sun-dried tomato paste adds depth and a slight tang, while Parmesan contributes saltiness and umami. Herbs like oregano, thyme, and fresh parsley provide aromatic undertones. The mixture is formed into equal-sized meatballs and fried in olive oil to achieve even cooking and a browned exterior.
These meatballs work well served with pasta, in sandwiches, or as an appetizer. Their tender texture results from balancing lean turkey with moist ingredients and breadcrumbs to prevent dryness.
Using an ice cream scoop or weighing meatballs helps maintain consistent size and cooking time. Frozen diced onion and garlic can save preparation time without significant flavor loss. Grated carrot or courgette can be added finely for hidden vegetable nutrition without altering texture noticeably.
