Eggless Christmas Tree Mini Cakes
Description
Eggless Christmas Tree Mini Cakes start with a vanilla cake batter colored green to create a seasonal, visually appealing effect. The batter combines sugar, oil, yogurt, and vanilla with all-purpose flour and leavening agents, then is baked until a clean skewer comes out, producing a tender yet sturdy crumb. After cooling, the rectangular cake is cut into triangular 'tree' slices and frosted with a creamy pink buttercream made by creaming butter, powdered sugar, and red food coloring. Decorating with sprinkles adds texture and festive flair, while small straws serve as trunks for the mini tree cakes.
The cake’s moist texture results from the yogurt and oil base, compensating for the absence of eggs. The frosting’s creaminess contrasts the cake's softness. Suitable for holiday parties, these mini cakes can be prepared a day ahead and decorated just before serving to maintain freshness and appearance. Their individual size makes them convenient for portion control and festive presentation.
Careful cutting into triangular shapes from the rectangular baked cake maximizes the number of mini trees. The green food color gives a clear visual cue of pine trees, while the pink frosting adds color contrast. The use of common baking ingredients and simple decoration techniques allows for confident preparation even by home bakers aiming for a seasonal treat.
