Ingredients
- 5 large eggs
- 1 cup eggnog
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- Pinch of kosher salt
- 8 lices of thick-cut bread
- butter for greasing and serving
- maple syrup for serving
Instructions
- In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, eggnog, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg until smooth and well-combined.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add enough butter to coat the pan.
- Meanwhile, dip each slice of bread into the eggnog mixture, allowing each side to soak for a few seconds or up to 30 seconds if you prefer softer French toast.
- Place the soaked bread slices in the skillet and cook until golden brown on each side, about 3 minutes per side. Add more butter to the pan as needed to prevent sticking.
- Serve immediately with maple syrup and butter on top.
