Description
Fantasy Fudge is a dense, creamy candy made by boiling sugar, butter, and evaporated milk together to form a base. Semi-sweet chocolate morsels and marshmallow cream are stirred into this hot mixture, melting to create a smooth chocolate foundation. Coarsely chopped walnuts add contrast with crunch and a subtle nutty flavor. Vanilla extract completes the blend with a touch of aromatic sweetness.
The mixture is poured into a lined 9x9-inch pan and allowed to cool for at least an hour until set, then sliced into squares. This results in a rich, firm fudge with a creamy and sweet chocolate-marshmallow profile complemented by walnut bits.
Storing the fudge in an airtight container at room temperature preserves freshness for up to two weeks, making it convenient for gifting or snacking over time.
Ingredients
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- ¾ cup butter
- ⅔ cup evaporated milk
- 12 ounces semi-sweet morsels (1 package)
- 7 ounce marshmallow cream jar
- 1 cup walnuts coarsely chopped
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Line a 9”x9” pan with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a medium heavy-bottomed saucepan add sugar, butter, and evaporated milk. Heat over medium-low until boiling.
- Continue boiling the mixture for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and add chocolate morsels and marshmallow cream. Stir until completely combined. Next, fold in walnuts, and vanilla.
- Pour into prepared pan. Allow to cool for at least 1 hour or until set. Cut into squares and serve or store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
