Fantasy Fudge
Description
This fudge recipe starts by cooking sugar, unsalted butter, and evaporated milk on medium-high heat to a soft-ball stage of 234 degrees Fahrenheit, which is essential for the correct fudge texture. Once reached, the heat is turned off and semi-sweet chocolate chips and marshmallow creme are stirred in to blend and smooth out the mixture. Vanilla extract and chopped walnuts are then added, providing flavor depth and crunch.
The fudge is spread gently into a foil-lined and greased 8x8 pan and refrigerated for about four hours until fully set. This chilling step allows the fudge to firm up to a sliceable consistency with a creamy, slightly chewy texture.
The walnuts add a crunchy contrast to the smooth chocolate and marshmallow mixture, creating a balanced texture and flavor profile. This confection is suitable for holiday gifting or dessert tables where traditional, old-fashioned fudge is appreciated.
