Farofa de Dendé

Farofa de dendé is cassava flour soaked in palm oil, to which other ingredients can be added to make it a flavorful Brazilian side dish.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup palm oil
  • 4 tablespoons onion finely grated
  • 7 oz. cassava flour farofa, roasted
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Add the palm oil into a pan placed over medium heat and heat it.
  2. Add the chopped onion and cook, stirring with a wooden spoon, until soft.
  3. Add the cassava flour little by little, stirring constantly.
  4. Continue to fry until the mixture is well incorporated.
  5. Season with salt and pepper and mix.
  6. Transfer the dendé farofa to a bowl and enjoy immediately.
