Firecracker Salmon

Firecracker Salmon features salmon fillets marinated in a mixture of garlic, ginger, soy sauce, chili and sriracha sauces, then pan-seared to form a flavorful crust and finished in the oven. This method infuses the fish with a fiery, tangy, and slightly sweet glaze balanced by aromatic spices like paprika and fresh chives, creating a warm and zesty dish with a tender center and slightly crisp exterior.

Description

The recipe uses a marinade blending fresh garlic and ginger with olive oil, soy sauce, chili sauce, brown sugar, red chili flakes, and sriracha, which penetrates the salmon during at least two hours of refrigeration. This marinade provides a mix of spicy heat, savory depth, and touch of sweetness that complements the rich flavor of salmon.

Pan-searing the salmon creates a crisp exterior, locking in juices before transferring the fillets to the oven to cook through gently. The final bake ensures the fish stays moist and tender. Chopped fresh chives sprinkled on top add a mild oniony freshness, offsetting the spiciness. The paprika seasoning lends a smoky undertone that melds with the other spices during cooking.

This salmon is well suited for serving warm alongside plain rice, steamed vegetables, or a fresh salad, where the sauce’s bold flavors can shine without being overwhelmed. It offers a balanced option for those who enjoy spicy, tangy seafood dishes with a home-cooked approach.

If desired, make extra firecracker sauce to brush the salmon once cooked, boosting the glaze and heat immediately before serving for an intensified flavor experience.
