Fish with Tomatoes, White Wine and Capers

This fish dish features delicate fillets cooked in a sauce of butter, garlic, white wine, lemon juice, marinara sauce, and capers. The combination creates a mildly tangy and savory topping that gently steams the fish to tender perfection. The capers add a subtle briny accent that contrasts with the sweetness of the tomato-based sauce, making it a balanced and flavorful seafood entrée.

Description

Fish with Tomatoes, White Wine and Capers is prepared by sautéing garlic in butter to develop flavor, then simmering white wine and lemon juice to add acidity and brightness. Marinara sauce is added to form a rich, tomatoey base. Fish fillets such as fluke, flounder, or halibut are placed atop this sauce and seasoned with salt, pepper, and capers. Cooking covered briefly steams the fish, while finishing uncovered allows for slight browning. The end result is moist, flaky fish infused with a light tangy-sweet caper tomato sauce.

This dish can be served alongside simple steamed vegetables, rice, or crusty bread to make a balanced, elegant meal. The sauce complements the subtle flavors of mild white fish and adds moisture without overpowering.
