These flaky pie dipping sticks are crispy, crumbly, lightly sweetened and amazing in some dipping sauce.

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup butter cold
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- salted caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a baking sheet with peachment paper.
- In a bowl, add in the milk and vinegar. I used apple cider, but distilled will work as well. Let sit for 5-10 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, add in the flour, salt and 1/4 cup of sugar. Stir to combine.
- Cut the shortening and butter into the flour until it's well incorporated. Small pea sized balls are good enough.
- Add in the milk and stir to combine.
- Turn the dough out onto a well floured surface. Flour the rolling pin and the top of the pie dough.
- Roll out and use a pizza cutter to cut the sticks.
- Place on a piece of parchment paper on a baking sheet.
- Brush each stick with the heavy cream. If you don't have cream, beat 1 egg and brush that on.
- In a small bowl, add the 2 T. of sugar and ground cinnamon.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture on top of the dipping sticks.
- Place in the oven and bake for 15 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool.
- Serve with a big cup of salted caramel sauce.
Notes
- To store any leftover dipping sticks, place in an air tight container and store at room temperature for up to 3 days.
