Flourless Double Chocolate Brownies
Description
The brownies start by gently melting ghee with semi-sweet chocolate. Meanwhile, eggs, coconut sugar, and vanilla extract are whisked until light and fluffy, creating a base with lift. The melted chocolate mixture is folded in carefully to avoid deflating the batter. Cocoa powder, salt, and chocolate chips are added last to intensify the chocolate taste.
After mixing until smooth, the batter is poured into a prepared pan and baked at 350°F for 28 minutes. Cooling completely before slicing helps the brownies set with a rich, dense texture. The final result is a fudgy brownie with a deep chocolate profile without any flour.
Ingredients
- 4 oz semi-sweet chocolate bar form
- 1/2 cup ghee or unsalted butter
- 1 cup coconut sugar or brown sugar
- 3 egg
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips semi-sweet
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F and grease an 8x8 baking pan or line with parchment paper
- Gently melt ghee and semi-sweet chocolate bar together in the microwave or over a double boiler
- Add eggs, coconut sugar, and vanilla extract to a large mixing bowl or a stand mixer
- Mix with the whisk attachment for an electric stand mixer or with an electric hand mixer until the mixture is fluffy and lighter in color about 7 minutes
- Fold melted chocolate and ghee mixture into the eggs and sugar mixture with a spatula - be sure the chocolate mixture is not too hot
- Add cocoa powder, salt and chocolate chips to the bowl and fold in with a spatula
- Mix with a spatula until you are left with a smooth, even mixture
- Pour brownie batter into a baking pan
- Bake at 350F for 28 minutes
- Allow to cool completely and then slice into squares
