Fresh Blueberry Scones
Description
Fresh Blueberry Scones are made by cutting cold butter into a mixture of flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until coarse crumbs form. Milk, cream, and eggs combine to moisten the dough, which is briefly kneaded and formed into a rectangle. Fresh or frozen blueberries are gently pressed onto the dough, then rolled and cut into rounds before baking. The result is golden, buttery scones with a tender crumb and fresh blueberry flavor.
The scones offer a balance of soft interior with a slightly crisp crust. The inclusion of cream adds richness, while the fruit bursts add subtle sweetness and moisture. Baking at 350°F creates a moderate bake that evenly cooks the dough and blueberries inside.
Serve these scones warm or at room temperature, plain or with butter, jam, or clotted cream. They can be enjoyed for breakfast, brunch, or alongside tea or coffee.
